The Handbook of the Navigator breaks all the traditional rules regarding the soul, the universe, and ultimately what we consider God to be. Its scale is epic in scope, beginning with why some people feel a spiritual calling, like a secret, inner instinct that leads them to the path of awakening. How the sixth sense can directly plug you into real spiritual experiences, the...more

I'm not real impressed by this book. Some of what he says make sense, and yet other parts contradict decades of careful research into NDE experiences and the paranormal in general. In particular, his assertion that one need be 'awakened' (enlightened) in order to survive death with one's consciousness intact is not supported by current NDE and spiritual research.
Everyone survives death and Pepin is just flatly wrong here, as far as I know.
Worse, this book seems like a long spiel on spirituality...more

poorly written, poorly edited, some okayish core thoughts surrounded by inarticulate murk & mixed metaphors. author is constantly defending what he acknowledges as 'cartoonish' imagery, by stating he's just trying to make it simple enough for folks to understand. little to no viable tech. and unexamined ideology that yields no value re: constructing a narrative frame.
in summary: 'i'm enlightened! now i'm gonna splain at you!' ad infinitum, ad nauseum. and in the most basic of ways.

This book was absolutely incredible. The author is a genius, not only does he write so fluidly, he is just plain brilliant. He 'gets it' and I had to stop reading the book a few times to just go 'damn.' This book was so enlightening, and is now one of my favorites. I highly recommend everyone to read it! I will definitely re-read this book in the future because not only was it amazing, it has such deep subject matter that it should be re-read over so that it might finally sink in. A+ book!

Good info, but Lack is Obvious.
I was so excited to read this work because it was so Highly recommended by a close friend. I did read it, but the first Red Flag was Immediate. The Fear Factor is immediate which of course is always (to me..) the First Clue there is a problem. But it's subtle..you, I..I should say..thought 'keep reading...it will make Sense'. It didn't, but was disguised easily as the author didnt give the Realization to us (me) that he allowed chapters in between the proposed BS....more

No real content....
This book may help someone out there, but I'm hard pressed to see how... a lot of mystical blah blah blah, and no real content. Anyone that is awakening will find that simple is better and Eric's long and rambling stories really aren't helpful in a journey of awakening... at least not for me... he talks about enlightenment as if it were something that only a few can attain, when, truthy-wise, everyone is capable... to be frank, I didn't finish the book, but I really tried hard...more

I was initially attracted to the cover art, and the message stating that reading this book will deliver the ultimate spiritual experience. There are only a few other books that have drawn me the way this one did, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in psychic Awakening.

Hmm I dono if I agree with what is written in this book, his Ideas are very different from all the other books I have read so far. But It definitely gives us a very different perspective, opens our mind to new possibilities...So Its nice.
The salmon analogy at the beginning of the book is a classic. :) loved it

I enjoyed this book, but you really have to be into the whole Eric Pepin view on life. For me, it was a good book, but does have some controversial aspects to it; most I agree with, one or two I am withholding judgement. I would say for the majority of my friends this would be a bit too far out there for them.
I can't remember when it was last time I started a book, but didn't finish it.
I couldn't finish this one. I tried hard. One day I'll come back to it.

Great BOOK.
It has its highs and lows. I read this when I wake up to get my mind right and my thought flowing.

Ok
I thought it was interesting until he attempts to describe God and the universe. I continued just to see what he would say.

“I started to think about why there is such a strong negative fixation on this matter and came to some interesting conclusions. Consider the general intelligence, concerns, and fears of an average person in ancient times. The Mystery schools, holy shrines, or temples were as financially dependant on the general populace then as they are now. If they were not dependant directly on the people, they were dependent on the rulers of the time. Because they were dependent on people, they were also sensitive to the concerns and fears of those people. People often fear things that they do not understand. When people were creating these theologies, they did not understand paranormal abilities. The reason that these ridiculous beliefs about paranormal abilities exist today is that people still do not understand what paranormal abilities are, how natural they are, and for that reason, people are still afraid. I can imagine the mobs with torches surrounding the temples now! The mystical masters knew this and understood that the common man did not have the intellect to comprehend what they were experiencing and seeking. They knew that appearances were everything and they needed a good public image. This was especially true if they wanted funding without crowds of fearful people, with aggressive ideas, at their doorstep. They created an image and doctrine they felt the general populace could accept. Then they created levels within the organization and kept some of those levels secret from the public.” — 1 likes
“Fear is the mind-killer. Of all the obstacles through life, it is fear that often poses the greatest danger. It can prevent you from continuing on your way. Luckily, you are a brave salmon, and surviving the bear only empowers and strengthens you.” — 1 likes
